ORMELLO was sent off 26-10 favourite for the Swedish Grand National at Stromsholm on Sunday but the British raider, trained by Lucinda Russell and ridden by Peter Buchanan, found the German-trained Gluckstag four lengths too good.

Andrew Doyle, 20, a stud groom who is representing Ireland in this year's Fegentri amateur championship, rode Gluckstag tovictory for trainer Elfi Schnakenberg.

Ian Chanin, the English Fegentri representative was less fortunate as his mount High Country was brought down when the Czech runner Godea fell.

Chanin was just sitting up whenlast year's winner Lights Out collided with him and knocked him into the air.

It looked a serious accident but Chanin escaped with bruises.
